New models, user accounts, new ways to help out

It’s been a while since there has been a developmental update, and that is because I have been on holiday and not really been able to work on any new developments. However, since I’ve been back, work has continued again, and I expect to be able to do a lot this month as I’m in between jobs, and this month is where I get to use up all my remaining PTO hours. This update will highlight the first of a few new updates coming this month, and they’re pretty exciting.

New Models

The first update is the addition of new models. These are GPT4o-mini, used for generating the daily quote, but suggested is not used to chat with, and then there are the family of Llama3.1 models, which straight off the bat have yielded amazing results. So much so that I would suggest you switch to those immediately, as they are amazing at having a conversation with. They’re sharp, witty, thoughtful and original, and they have been a blast to converse with.

When I told Llama 3.1 70b that I was waiting for ToGODer to really take off, it “had to chuckle at this comment”, as it didn’t see itself as a business but only as a conversational partner. Its sense of humor here is something I never have seen in any model until now, and it has surprised me also in other ways. It seems to be able to take more distance from an argument, it is able to take a step back more than other models have been able to, and really see a broader picture. It’s not perfect yet, but it is a massive leap forward.

User Accounts

A new development is that we have added user accounts now to the website. This allows us to have support for API keys, and it will allow us to enable integrations into other platforms. A WordPress plugin is the first that comes to mind, and is an integration that we’re considering for our first joint venture with an as-of-yet undisclosed partner. As a first step, we have limited the amount of messages you can send per conversation to 10, but we have not imposed billing on the messages you send. We strongly believe that everything should be freely accessible, and our WordPress plugin will run in a donation-based model just as our website is doing. If enough people donate, we will be able to stay online 🙂

When you create an account, you will see a balance in your user details. Our hope is that people will see that as an invitation to keep it at zero, so they pay for their own usage, and hopefully can pay for other users too.

New socials

As an effort to attract more people into our community, we have started a Facebook page 🙂 It’s an easy way to stay up to date with our developments, and show us some love by liking the page. We will post our blog posts there, and stay in touch with you, just like we do on our Telegram. Come discuss 🙂
